Activities Day 2

Early Morning

• 
  Enter the Kruger NP via the Pafuri Gate., Pafuri Picnic Site

Morning

• 
  Join a guided game drive to the Thulamela Iron-Age Kingdom. Thulamela was the capital of an African Kingdom that rose to prominence in the mid-second millennium AD and lasted for several decades. It is well-cited both academically and publicly, it features in many discussions about African history and is an example of Africa’s intercontinental connectivity.

  Brunch at the Pafuri Picnic Site. Take food with you for the brunch at the picnic site., Pafuri Picnic Site
• 
  Drive through a fever tree forest. The fever tree's distinctive form and striking colours make it easily identifiable in the wild. The tree can be recognised by its straight, smooth trunk, an unusual lime green colour and covered with fine yellow dust. The bark of the trunk and branches is flaky and tends to peel off in paper-thin layers.
• 
  Visit Crook's Corner. Crooks' Corner got its name from the outlaws who lived there in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Because of the three sovereign territories that met at the confluence of the Limpopo and Luvuvhu rivers - Portuguese East Africa (Mozambique), Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and South Africa - it was relatively easy to avoid the law by hopping over into a neighbouring territory.

  Explore the area around Punda Maria on your own., Northern Kruger National Park

Late Afternoon

• 
  Join a sunset drive on an open-game view vehicle. These drives leave the camp before dusk and return after sunset, lasting around three hours. In the cool afternoon, search for grazers and predators starting their nightly hunts. Sunset is a time when night animals emerge, and a drive during this period is the perfect opportunity to witness the beauty of the bush as it changes from day to night. Learn about fauna and flora from your expert guide and return to camp with a spot-lit night drive.

Afternoon

  Sightseeing from the lookout platforms allow a person to observe the river below., Olifants Rest Camp

Activities Day 6

Early Morning

  Explore the area around the Olifants Rest Camp on your own., Olifants Rest Camp

Afternoon

• 
  Join a guided river walk. Experienced (and armed) guides share their knowledge of the fauna and flora to explain natural wonders. The walks are relaxed and don’t take longer than a few hours, so no over-exhaustion will take place.

   

  Two armed field guides accompany you on the walk to ensure your safety, they will focus on the things that you will usually not be able to see from a vehicle. By being out on foot you cover an area more intensely and you can experience nature using all of your senses. If there is any large game in the area you are more than likely able to encounter them and have an exhilarating experience of approaching them on foot.
